|Juan Martín Hernández|
Los Pumas first taste of The Rugby Championship has seen a mixed performance in the first half. The South Africans scored two soft tries to hold a thirteen point lead. The first try was score by fullback Zane Kirchner who caught the defense in two minds to score in the left corner. It came after Argentina had been penalized inside its own 22. The second try came after a questionable refereeing decision from Steve Walsh who was looking to clamp down on players at ruck time and determined that Juan Figallo had been in an illegal position when he was disputing the ball. The try was scored from a resulting maul by backrower Marcell Coetzee.
South Africa has been better in the backrow in general while the forwards have otherwise been an even contest. The Pumas backs, however, have looked dangerous but have let themselves down with knock-ons or incomplete passes. The best players so far have been Willen Alberts and François Hougaard for the hosts and Gonzalo Camacho, Patricio Albacete and Juan Martín Hernández for the visitors. Hernández has been organizing play well with good kicking, passing and has, on the occassion, challened the line himself. He has been well supported by Santiago Fernández too and the have had the better of play compared to their opponents. Camacho ahs had a high workload and won a turnover. He has been regaulrly seen attacking in the midfield. Agulla, has been quite, suggesting that Santaiago Phelan needs to use him better.
The match is still anybody´ to win.
